Born Without A Purpose is from my nihilist stage in Liverpool around 2010…The title is a reversal of Dr Alimantado’s Born For A Purpose which was supposedly John Lydon’s favourite Reggae track…but I always preferred Best Dressed Chicken…and being the anti-antichrist I just had to write this…There have been a few demo versions floating around in recent years and I read it as a poem in Markulus…but finally here is the finished version.
lyrics
Born without a purpose
In a world without style
I spent a pretty penny
And walked a crooked mile
Too dark for the blacks
Too strange for the queers
So what the fuck
Are you doing here?
Put your hands up
You bunch of fuckups
Your visible life signs
Barely show up
Your dodgy storylines
Never showed up
Running out of reasons
To exist at all
Running out of seasons
To exist no more
Degenerating reason
Disintegrating laws
Put your hands up
You bunch of sad cunts
Without a purpose
Without a clue
Without a purpose
What else could I do?
Born without a purpose
In a world without sin
A more successful failure
There has never been
The walls are too small
The floors are too thin
The climate conspires
To do you in
Born without a purpose
Or a reason, or a clue
You couldn’t make it stranger
So what else could I do?
Born without a remit
In a senile fucked up scheme
A sleepwalking abortion
In a post pandemic dream
