By early 2012 I was fucked up “Angry, ill and as ugly as sin” as Devoto or Dostoevsky said. I had been a tenant of Riverside Housing, Liverpool’s premier slumlord for seven years and they had made my life a misery. David Cameron, our then glorious leader told us of the excitement he felt opening the door to his first house. I just felt like burning my place down…So I wrote this song about it…then on 29th February 2012 I did just that, then called the police to come and get me…the rest is history.
lyrics
Die on your feet
Live on your knees
Repeat yourself endlessly
Look out the window with me
What kind of life
What kind of life do you lead
Just another cog
In this great society
The Olympian dream
Of a pygmy imagination
Fucked up the ass
Of this disunited nation
What kind of life?
What kind of life for me
Shopping city dreams
And futile future families
Mere minions of this idiocracy
QE2 a living corpse decrees
Head prefects rule
And you are the fags to please
Divide and rule
Wank with your property
What kind of times are these
Your houses are tombs
Your life is diseased
Fight back
Burn it down
Don’t just occupy
Object, subject
Self medication
Keeps you down
Dulls the Imagination
What kind of lies are these
Die on your feet
Live on your knees
